THE ACADEMIC TEAM

Our professionally trained academic staff is equipped to guide the students holistically. The small classroom setting enables us to provide optimal academic supervision needed by the students while enabling them to manage their studies independently.

Recognized by School of Tomorrow Malaysia for their excellence, two of our staff members have been invited to be part of the Training Team for the National Administrator's & Supervisor's Training, held twice a year for schools around Malaysia and Singapore using the ACE Curriculum.

REUBEN CHAN, Director

• Bachelor of Psychology. Hons. (Youth and Community Development)

• Over 9 years experience in the field of Education using the ACE School of Tomorrow Curriculum

Mr. Reuben Chan has been heading the team at Beacon Learning Center since January 2012. While completing his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, he has had teachingexperience in a Kumon center, and was involved in voluntary teaching work in Sabah where he led several education initiatives in rural areas of Sabah between 2008 - 2009. Prior to starting Beacon Learning Center, he served as an Academic Supervisor and Counselor with another homeschool in Penang using the ACE School of Tomorrow curriculum.

WONG MEI KUAN, Principal / Administrator

• Bachelor of Engineering. Hons. (Mechanical Engineering)

• Member of the Training Team at School of Tomorrow Malaysia

• ACE School of Tomorrow Certified School Administrator

• International Certificate of Christian Education (ICCE) School Moderator and Coordinator

• Over 7 years experience in the field of Education using the ACE School of Tomorrow Curriculum

Ms. Wong Mei Kuan is one of the pioneering instructors at Beacon Learning Center. Prior to this, she worked as an Engineer with Motorola Solutions Penang, but always had a passion for teaching. While completing her Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, she was involved in several voluntary education initiatives in rural areas of Sabah between 2008 - 2010. She served as an Academic Supervisor before being appointed as the Principal and Administrator of Beacon Learning Center in July 2018.

ESTHER CHAN, Middle School Academic Supervisor

• Master of Science (Economics)

• ACE School of Tomorrow Certified School Administrator

• 4 years experience in the field of Education

Ms. Esther is the Academic Supervisor for the Middle School. Prior to joining Beacon in 2017, she has had experience in the field of education at Fairview International School (Penang) and a music school in Singapore. In addition to her duties as an Academic Supervisor, she also provides piano lessons at Beacon.
